Strawberry Bush/Euonymus americana

Growing in the fence row out back is another native, Euonymus americana/strawberry bush, with striking seed capsules. It is a sparse bush with green stems which spreads by stolons as well as seed. Check out the USDA distribution map to see if it is native to your area.

  2. I love these! None in my garden but where I walk there is a great one that shines. I tried starting seeds to no avail. How beautiful those seed pods are!

  3. It appears that this bush grows in our zone and state but I don't recall ever seeing or hearing about it. Those seed capsules really are cool!
